Marvelman, later known as Miracleman, is a superhero character originally created by Mick Anglo for L. Miller & Son's Publications in 1954, filling a gap in the British comic book market when American superhero comics were restricted.

The character, initially named Marvelman, was based on Fawcett Comics' Captain Marvel (Shazam). After Captain Marvel's copyright issues, Marvelman became a distinctly British take on the concept, with reporter Michael Moran gaining superhuman abilities by uttering the word "Kimota!" transforming into the powerful Marvelman. He was joined by Kid Marvelman and Young Marvelman, representing a heroic family.

The original series ended in 1963. However, Marvelman was reimagined by Alan Moore (under the pseudonym "The Original Writer") in 1982 for Warrior Magazine. This revamp was a dark and deconstructive take on superheroes, exploring the psychological and philosophical implications of immense power and the nature of heroism. Moran, now Miracleman, grapples with a lost memory of his former life and the ethical consequences of his abilities. The series was continued by Neil Gaiman after Moore's departure, further developing the complex world and characters.
